Der SON 28 ist ein universell zugelassener Nabendynamo gemäß der Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO). Mit einer Nennleistung von 3 Watt wird diese bereits bei einer Fahrgeschwindigkeit von etwa 16 km/h erreicht.

Daher eignet er sich ideal für Situationen, in denen bei langsamer Fahrt viel Licht benötigt wird oder andere Geräte betrieben bzw. deren Akkus geladen werden sollen.
